International Affairs Travel Funds

International Affairs sponsors faculty travel for research abroad and for presenting a paper at an international conference. The grants of up to $1000 are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis to tenured and tenure-track faculty. Faculty are eligible to receive one travel grant in a three-year period. Travel grants are contingent upon funding from the Endowment Association and the KU Center for Research. Applications must be received no later than four weeks prior to travel. Please see the application form (link below) for additional information.

Application Process

  1. Submit International Faculty Travel Award application (pdf) to Kim Booth in International Programs. 
  2. Review KU insurance and travel policies.
  3. Submit Assumption of Responsibility Form (pdf) if traveling to a dangerous location (as determined by the U.S. State Department Travel Warning list). 
  4. Applications are reviewed throughout the year on a rolling basis.
