International Employee & Scholar Counsel and Support

International Programs offers a variety of immigration services to visiting international scholars and employees, to KU hosting units, and departments.

The sponsoring department or unit should be the primary point of contact at KU. Department representatives are responsible for requesting immigration documents from International Programs. Once IP has issued the required documents, we will notify the representative.

International employees and scholars are responsible for maintaining their immigration status once physically present in the U.S. This includes maintaining a valid passport, immgration documents (e.g. DS-2019s, I-94 card), notifying U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) of a change of address within 10 days of moving, and not accepting any unauthorized employment.
